The tour takes place on the slopes in the Taurus Mountains on Tahtalı Peak which has an elevation of 2,365 meters. This tour climbs to a height of 1,000 meters and it only possible in the summer months because the temperature is 5-7 degrees Celsius below that of Kemer. It is a week-long trip with arrival on Saturday and departure the following Saturday. Saturday: Upon arrival, guests enjoy a welcome cocktail, complete their hotel registration and are given information about the hotel, the riding program, activities and all of the other tours. Sunday: Meet the horses and our trainers, warm-up laps on the riding course, divide into groups according to riding skill and enjoy a ride in the pine forests. After five hours of horseback riding, relax around the pool and rest before a delightful dinner. Monday: We begin our tour with a 7-8 hour ride towards the highland village of Kuzdere. We travel along Kesme Boğazı and the steep mountain slopes through which the Ağva River flows. We eat lunch on the Stone Bridge (Taş Köprü), which dates back to the Byzantine era. Yayla Kuzdere is the closest village to Tahtalı Peak, which is usually covered with snow until the second week of June. You will be enchanted by the views of the coast and the pine forests in these mountains. We stay the night in the village house at Yayla Kuzdere. Tuesday: After leaving Yayla Kuzdere, we begin a 7-8 hour journey towards Çukurca. We eat lunch at one of the villages on our route. On the way, you can eat fresh fruit from the magnificent orchards that the villagers have planted. We stay the night in the wooden houses at Çukurca. Wednesday: Our next stop will be the village of Gedelma after a 7-8 hour journey. We pass through the village of Ovacık (Small Plain), which, as the name indicates, is a highland meadow surrounded by mountains with fabulous vistas. The highland meadow of Gedelma offers interesting sites that tourists find fascinating and these locations can be visited that same afternoon or the next morning. One of these is a legendary sycamore tree that is 2,500 years old, a natural cave with lighting, the ruins of a castle and a camp where nomads have pitched tents. We stay the night in village houses in Gedelma and eat village fare. We continue our journey the next day after a traditional Turkish breakfast. Thursday: We return to the hotel after a 6-7 hour journey that involves crossing Kesme Boğazı gorge. The Kesme Boğazı gorge is situated in steep and rocky mountains. You can cool off in the ice-cold waters of Ağva River during the trip. The river runs down to the Kesme Boğazı gorge and our tour continues in the foothills of the mountains. Friday: On the last day, we visit the ancient temple on Mount Olympus. On this 4-hour journey, we travel 8 km through the forest and climb 600-700 meters. When we reach the summit, we tie the horses beside a spring and walk about 10 minutes to a mystic temple with a spectacular view of the Mediterranean from the village of Kumluca. Saturday: Return on this day. Say goodbyes after breakfast and leave for the airport. Additional information regarding the tour schedule: All schedules are prepared and offered by Hotel Berke Ranch. Meals are served in mountain restaurants for the duration of the tour. Accommodations are provided in village houses for 3 nights and 4 nights at the Hotel Berke Ranch.
